There are numerous
card-giving opportunities. What
ones are you missing?
Consider these
occasions and cards to help keep your company name in front of your prospects
and clients:

Celebrate the anniversary
of the day you began business with a client. It's a chance to remind
them of how long you've been working with them and an opportunity
for you to thank them for their business.

Forward interesting clipped
articles that mention a client or prospect or could help them in their
business. This kind of selfless gesture (try signing it "this made
me think of you," "congratulations on your achievement"), builds goodwill
and is non-threatening.

Welcome a new employee
to your organization by sending news of their arrival to your clients
and prospects. Doing so will show that you're a growing company and
that you have expertise on board.

Announce the launch of
your company's web site by sending a note that highlights the information
and functionality you're offering online. Make sure that the recipient
knows they're getting advanced notice because they're such an important
client or prospect. Ask them to pass the information along to others
who might be interested!

Announce the launch of
your company's e-mail newsletter. This is an innovative, offline way
to boost subscriber numbers. Be sure to include subscribe instructions
and your publication's mission statement.

Remind current customers
of other services and ask them to recommend you to others. It's a
well-known business fact that it's more expensive to gain a customer
than it is to keep a customer. Why not sell more to your existing
customers and get those satisfied customers to do some selling for
you.

Celebrate the oft-ignored
holidays. Your thoughtful card might get lost in the midst of the
December card flood. However, it would stand out on, say, Valentine's
Day! A clever message ('We love our customers!') completes the tactic.
